James Leroy Roffe passed absent peacefully on Might 14, 2022. James (Jim) was born on June 25, 1920 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania to Leo Heltman Roffe and Madalyn May well Moodler and elevated primarily by his maternal grandmother. He used his childhood skating on the Susquehanna River and observing Piper Cub aircrafts take off and land at the airfield in close proximity to his dwelling. He graduated from Lock Haven High University in which he was lively in the choral club, band, and orchestra. He performed trumpet in a neighborhood jazz band adopted by enjoying “Reveille” after enlisting in the Military Air Corps through Earth War II wherever, as a 2nd Lieutenant, he flew B-17 bombers and educated other pilots. Although stationed at Lowry Air Power Foundation, Jim achieved his long term spouse, Helen Agnes Jaszkowiak, at a USO dance at the Trocadero at Elitch Gardens and they married in 1946. As he and Helen elevated 3 little ones, Jim labored at Land Summary Organization as a typist when attending the University of Denver. He remained in title insurance plan his complete functioning lifetime and retired as regional president of Transamerica Title Insurance policy Company. Jim was active in the Denver Optimist Club, beloved participating in golfing with his buddies right after picking up the activity at age 46. He never ever missed viewing a Denver Broncos’ video game, loved a fantastic chocolate milkshake, and could not go up a slot equipment in Central City. He experienced an incredible sense of humor, taught his family members the like of vacation, tricky operate, and a forthright method to existence. Preceding him in death had been his wife Helen and his daughter Margaret Rhodes Butterly. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his two sons and two daughters-in-regulation Steven Roffe, Dolly Roffe, Gary Roffe, Janet Barrows, his 9 grandchildren Kyle Roffe, Trevor Roffe, Bryce Roffe, Erin Hopper, Cara Gauthier, Colin Butterly, Katy Butterly, Caroline Roffe and Zach Roffe, and 4 terrific grandchildren Lawley Hopper, Wilson Hopper, Morley Gauthier and River Gauthier. Celebration of existence will be held at Bonnie Brae Tavern at a later date.
